Positive turning inserts
ISO positive carbide inserts (PST) — six chip grooves for steel, stainless and cast iron finishing and general-purpose turning.
Galtona's PST range covers positive-geometry turning across finishing, general-purpose, and heavier engagement, with six dedicated chip grooves, each FEM-optimised for its application.
For steel finishing: PWX (Masterfinish geometry, high surface quality, also available as a heavy-turning grade) and JF (cermet TCM10 finishing).
For chip control and general-purpose turning: WSF+ (optimised chip control across steel and stainless grades) and WM+ — the broadest range, spanning 7 insert shapes across GTCP115, GTCP125, GTCP125HP, GTCP135 steel grades plus stainless GTCM120HP/GTPM125/GTPM135M and cast-iron GTCK120.
For stainless, cast iron, non-ferrous, and exotic materials: EN-EF (sharp ground edge, extreme finishing) and LMF+ (new chipbreaker, available in a fine finishing grade and a heavier uncoated H216T grade for larger depths of cut).
JF — cermet finishing
JF — Cermet Finishing
Fine finishing with cermet grade TCM10, 7°-inclusive geometry.
Example: DCMT 11T304-JF. Depth of cut 0.10–1.65 mm, feed 0.20–0.05 mm. Rated for consistent cutting depth only — not for inconsistent or interrupted cuts.
