Grooving and parting tools with carbide inserts
Carbide grooving inserts with matching holders, boring bars and blades — parting and grooving tools from the UK.
Galtona's Grooving range (Grooving Metric Catalogue) covers insert systems and toolholders for parting, grooving, and turning operations: double-sided (GD), single-sided (GO and GS), and axial (GA) inserts across 7 chip-breaker geometries (M1, F1, ST1, T, M, MM, LM) for steel, stainless, cast iron, exotic alloys, and non-ferrous metals.
Toolholders span monoblock external holders (standard and reinforced, with optional internal coolant), boring bars for internal grooving, the modular Module GA / Module Holder axial-grooving system, and hardened parting blades (GBN/GBR/GBL) with matched clamping blocks.
As with the rest of Galtona's tooling program, custom blanks, semi-finished, and finished products can be developed in collaboration with customers where standard catalogue tools don't fit specific requirements.

Chip-Breaker Geometries & Material Selection
GD (double-sided), GO (single-sided), GS (single-sided), and GA (axial) insert systems across 7 chip-breaker geometries.
Galtona grooving inserts share the same geometry naming across the GD (double-sided), GO (single-sided), GS (single-sided, narrower body), and GA (axial) insert families: M1 (medium cutting, narrow negative chamfer, steel and grey cast iron), F1 (very soft cutting, low cutting forces, parting tubes and thin-walled parts), ST1 (stainless and super-alloys), T (combined grooving and turning), M (radius grooves / copy turning), MM (general application and turning, especially stainless), and LM (non-ferrous metals, highly positive rake with "microfinish" rake face).

Application/parting icons on each geometry indicate whether the insert is intended for parting, grooving, and/or turning — most GD geometries cover all three; GS and GA geometries are grooving/turning only.
