ISO turning toolholders and boring bars
ISO turning holders, boring bars and threading toolholders from the UK — external, internal, grooving and parting.
Galtona's Turning Toolholder range covers external turning, internal turning (boring bars), threading, grooving, and parting applications, built to the ISO clamping-system code standard (top clamping, top-and-hole clamping, wedge clamping, lever clamping, and screw clamping), with a full matrix of insert shapes, approach angles, clearance angles, hand orientations, shank sizes, and tool lengths.
External turning spans steel, ceramic, and Swiss-type toolholder families across all 6 ISO clamping systems. Internal turning boring bars (steel or carbide shank, with or without internal coolant) cover Ø8–60 mm. Threading holders (SER/SEL external, SIR/SIL internal) are manufactured with a 1.5° helix angle, matched to thread pitch and diameter via angled shims.
Grooving toolholders are manufactured from 44 HRc hardened tool steel with smooth surfaces and precise insert-pocket dimensions produced after heat treatment, for improved insert contact and tensile strength. Parting blades are hardened to 55 HRc, with parallelism held to ±0.03 mm over 150 mm length and flatness within 0.05 mm, for accurate, repeatable cuts.

Threading Toolholders
External (SER/SEL) and internal (SIR/SIL) threading holders, 1.5° helix angle.
Galtona threading toolholders are manufactured with a 1.5° helix angle. Resultant helix angle is determined by thread pitch and diameter (β° = 20×P/D) and matched via angled shims — from 0° (standard shim, AL53/AL54) up to 4.5°. Internal bars (SIR right-hand, SIL left-hand) share the same shank system as the boring-bar range; external holders (SER, SEL) use the same approach-angle and clamping conventions as external turning holders.
