Serrated blade milling cutters with replaceable blades
Blade milling cutters with replaceable serrated blades — six families for slotting, shouldering and face milling in the UK.
Galtona's Serrated Blade Cutters use a forged and heat-treated alloy steel body carrying replaceable serrated High Speed Steel (or cemented-carbide-tipped) blades — resizable with minimal regrinding by reinserting each blade one slot ahead, which moves the cutting edge out a few thousandths of an inch.
No. 600 Alternate Angle cutters (Ø4"–16") stagger blades for keyway and slotting work. No. 610 Interlocking pairs join two No. 620 Half Side cutters for wide slotting and channeling. No. 630 Straight Blade cutters suit general-purpose milling.
The same blade system is also offered as shank-type (640/640X), arbor-type (650/650X), centring-arbor (660C/660CX), and BS 122-1953 (B650/B650X) shell and face mills, in light, medium, and heavy-duty variants.
No. 900/920 cutters use the same alternate-angle and interlocking designs but with cemented-carbide-tipped blades, in cast-iron (G) and light-alloy (M) grades, for high-production slotting.
No. 600 — Alternate Angle Milling Cutter
No. 600 — Alternate Angle Milling Cutters
HSS, blades staggered at alternate angles, fine-adjustment feature. Diameters 4"–16".
A highly efficient cutter for keyway or slotting operations. The Galtona Serrated Adjustable Cutter Blade is fitted into a forged and heated alloy steel body; blades are staggered at alternate angles. Reinserting each blade one slot ahead moves it out sideways a few thousandths of an inch, permitting the cutter to be resized with minimal grinding.
Made to standard dimensions with forged, selected special High Speed Steel Galtona Cutter Blades. Also available in T.15 Super H.S.S., Super-Cobalt H.S.S., and "Stellite".
