Indexable face mills with up to 12 cutting edges

Indexable milling cutters for face milling — SSM-H, DSM-S and DSM-H systems with up to 12 effective cutting edges.

Three face-milling systems, one family.

SSM-H (6×45°) covers general-purpose HPKT/HPCT and octagon HOKT/HOCT inserts. DSM-S (8×45°) uses the double-sided, reversible SOKU insert for 8 effective edges. DSM-H (12×45°) runs HNKU/HOKU inserts for 12 cutting edges and maximised economy.

All three share Masterfinish geometry for an extremely soft, spindle-friendly cut, with direct insert indexing that doesn't require removing the clamping screw. Cutter bodies span Ø40–160 mm.

Grades cover the full range — general steel (GCP230, GPP235), stainless (GC5235, GPM240), cast iron (GCK215, GPK220), and non-ferrous metals (GTWN715) — so one family handles nearly every face-milling job.

DSM-S — Face Milling 8×45°

SOKU double-sided, reversible insert — 4 times indexable and flippable for 8 effective edges. Available in two sizes, SOKU12 and SOKU15.

Applications: Face milling, slot milling, chamfering.

Chipbreakers: HCM — steel, medium & roughing operations. SCM — steel/stainless steel finishing. CCM — cast iron.

Customer benefits: Masterfinish technology; double-sided positive (positive rake angle) square insert.
